Food Bank of Greenwood County
Who We Are
We are a volunteer driven organization who depends on the generosity of individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations to help us meet the emergency food needs in our community.
From the youngest resident to the oldest resident, we are here to help. Protecting our most vulnerable populations (Children and Seniors) is our top priority.
Through a variety of programs, we feed 2,000 individuals in our community every month. That's 3% of our county's population.
What We Do
1) Emergency Food Pantry - Open Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Clients must have picture ID and proof of Greenwood County Residency. Eligible residents can receive food from this program once a month.
2) Senior Box Program - Seniors age 60 and older qualify according to their income. Boxes of food are distributed once per month to qualified Seniors according to program guidelines. Food in this program is distributed the 3rd Thursday of each month to eligible seniors.
3) The Sowing Seeds Program provides residents an opportunity to invest a small amount towards their food security. Eligible residents can receive food from this program four times a year.
